NIA Deputy Director Calls Depression One Of The Most Common Mental Illnesses

Meanwhile, among women 60 and over, one in five takes an antidepressant. Depression “is one of the most common mental health illnesses of our time,” said Marie A. Bernard, MD, Deputy Director of the National Institute on Aging (NIA).
